I had a great time hanging out with Cora & Chris and their two lovely kids Payton and Emily in their beautiful home in Elora, Ontario.

I think the best thing about these day in the life sessions is that it allows the kids to relax and have fun becuase they’re on their own home turf which lets us get better pictures.

After photographing Emily for the day, I’ve decided that 8 months (ish) is the perfect age for baby’s…. They can sit up and focus on the camera but they can’t really go anywhere.

I had a great time hanging out with Kaya + Kalea with their mom Jolene up in the town of Mitchell.  This was one of my new Day in the Life sessions, so we spent the morning doing crafts, exploring the neighborhood and finished up with some relaxed portraits in their house.

I think these sessions are great because it puts the kids in their home turf so they’re relaxed and can have fun with the camera around (no scary Walmart studios!!!!).  It also allows the pictures to have some context and when they look back on them in 40 years they will see their house, their rooms and their favorite toys instead of some cold sterile backdrop with a cheesy prop.

I had a great time with Sarah + Phil shooting they’re engagement session in Toronto.  It was pretty cold and Sarah was a little under the weather, so we decided to stay inside Union Station for most of it with a couple quick trips outside.
Even with the cold, we managed to get some great shots.
Sarah + Phil are getting married this August with an outdoor ceremony in Elmira and the reception in Toronto.
