Hey everyone, I’ve got a fancy new blog at a fancy new address.
You can find my new blog over here at www.torontoweddingphotographerblog.com.
Here’s my slideshow from the Foundation Workshop back in 2009.
I manged to squeak in an 8th and 11th place in the ISPWP Spring Photo Contest, both from Jackie & Kent’s Toronto photo shoot.
Congrats to all the other photographers who placed/won, some amazing talent out there.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been selected as one of Langdon Hall’s recomended vendors.
Langdon Hall is a stunning venue located just outside of Cambridge, Ontario about an hour west of Toronto.
The grounds are amazing, the rooms luxurious and the service impeccable.
As for the food, it was named to the S. Pellegrino Top 100 restaurants in the world.
I’ve already got two weddings at Langdon Hall this year, but I’d love to shoot a few more. Give me a call if you’re getting married there.

I’m really happy to announce a new blog that I’ve started with two of my best friends in the photography world, Scott McQuarrie of ReAction Photography and Tim Forbes of Forbes Photographer.
Together, we’ll all be contributing to www.torontoweddingphotojournalists.com where we’ll be showcasing some of our favorite ‘PJ’ images from weddings and other assignments in Toronto and Southern Ontario. We’ll also be posting any interesting links about all things PJ.
The three of us have participated in some of the most intense photojournalism workshops for wedding photographers, the Foundation Workshop and the Roots Workshop. Both of these workshops feature instructors with extensive real world journalism experience, some even Pulitzer Prize winners!
Tim and I are also award winning members of the WPJA, an association dedicated to the idea of wedding photojournalism which has some of the best wedding PJ’s from around the world as members.
Please head on over to site and have a look! (Make sure you add us to your RSS reader!)
The WPJA Q4 contest results were released today and I’m proud to say one of my images placed 13th in the ‘Bride Getting Ready’ category.
It’s one of my favorite images from 2009 from Sarah + Phil’s wedding in August in Elmira/Mississauga.
WPJA contests are truly a worldwide affair, so to place against some of the best wedding photographers in the world is an honor.
I’m happy to announce that Capturing the Light Photography has been accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA).
Here’s a little bit about the WPJA from their website:
The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) is a professional organization composed of photojournalists and wedding photographers from around the world. What sets our members apart in the industry is their candid, documentary approach – a distinctly artistic vision toward wedding photography.
I remember when I started photographing weddings I was in awe of some of the work on the WPJA website so to now be a member is a proud moment. I’m really excited to start entering their quarterly image competitions. Knowing that I have to enter images every couple months always pushes me to be a better photographer.

I’m really pleased to announce that Capturing the Light Photography has been chosen to be a member of Bestofweddingphotography.com.
This is an invitation only listing of wedding photographers with all members being chosen by a prestigious board of photographers including Ben Chrisman, Anna Kuperburg and David Beckstead amongst others. Only 350 invitations were sent out worldwide, so I’m in extremely good company and a little humbled.
Here’s a link to my listing.
I just got word that one of my images came in 19th at the ISPWP Winter Photo Contest.
19th might not sound great, but considering the amazing competition from around the world (literally. Who knew Brazil and Russia had so many great photographers?) I’m really happy to have placed.
