New Website!

Just wanted to let everyone know that my new website is finally up and running.

I’m really happy with how it came out.  Some of the new features are bigger images, full screen mode, sample weddings and a better menu system.

Head on over and have a look, I’d love to hear what you think.

I’d like to thank the guys over at Big Folio for all their help.  If you’re a photographer who needs a new website, give them a call.

Slice of Life Sessions | Kitchener Family Portraits

I’d like to announce a new type of portrait session at Capturing the Light Photography:  Slice of Life Sessions.

These will be a great way to document the life of a young family in their home instead of the standard pictures at the park that everyone else has.

The sessions will consist of me spending a couple hours in your home documenting the everyday events in your family.   Everything from play time, nap time, walks, meals…  The sky’s the limit.

The important thing is that the pictures will represent who you guys really are, instead of everyone wearing matching Christmas shirts in front of a white backdrop at WalMart.

Since the approach to these family portrait sessions was a little different, I had to come up with something new to properly showcase the images.

Therefore with each session you will receive a custom fine art coffee table book designed by me to proudly show your pictures to friends & family.

The cost of these sessions is $500.00 (plus tax).

Please contact me at scott@capturingthelight.com if you have any questions or would like to book your family’s Slice of Life portrait session.

Here’s an example of what the session and the book will look like.

Melanie + Tyler | Engagement Guest Book

I just received an amazing guest book for Melanie & Tyler’s wedding in September.

I thought I’d share the design, I’ll try and get some pictures of the actual book up soon.

The first image is the cover, after that it’s two page spreads.

Mulder Wedding Florals

Flowers

Bree & Nick’s wedding featured some great flower arrangements from Melissa over at Mulder Wedding Florals.

Give her a call if you want some great flowers for your big day.

Save the date cards

Okay…. You’ve got all these kick ass engagement pictures, now what?

Well, one option is I can create a guest book like the one a couple posts down on the blog.

Another option is that we can create a Save the Date card.

These cards are not the official invitations to your wedding, instead they just let people know when you’re getting married.

With everyone’s busy schedules these days, sometimes even the standard 3-6 months notice with the invitation isn’t enough time to book a weekend off so they can attend your wedding.
Here’s a couple of Save the Date designs so you can get a feel for what’s possible.

Andrea + Steve | Cambridge | Guest Book

I recently finished an awesome guest book for Andrea + Steve who are getting married on May 9, 2009.

Basically, I take the couples engagement pictures and design a custom hardcover book that their guests can sign at the wedding.  It great because it allows guests to not just sign, but leave a nice message for the happy couple.

The books are so nice, that you’ll be proud to leave it on your coffee table (until kids arrive, then you have to hide it!)  so that everyone can flip through it.

These books are included with the engagement shoot (or the other way around….) under the new pricing structure.

Front & back cover.
