Capturing the Light Photography Blog- Toronto, Kitchener, Waterloo Wedding Photographer bio picture

Welcome

Hello and welcome to the internet! More specifically, my blog.

I'm Scott Williams and I'm the owner/photographer/president/janitor of Capturing the Light Photography. I specialize in wedding photography and lifestyle portraits. Basically, if it has a pulse, I photograph it.

I'm based out of Kitchener but I travel though-out most of southern Ontario including all of Waterloo Region, the Golden Horseshoe and nice fancy resorts up in Muskoka!

I'll be using this blog to showcase recent work, for any announcements and to showoff the occasional pictures of my cute kids. You can subscribe to this blog using an RSS reader at the very bottom (scroll WAY down!) or by adding it to the bookmarks in your browser. If you like what you see, feel free to leave a comment (nasty ones will be deleted...).

Thanks.

Scott.

Brittany + Frank | Waterloo Wedding Photography

Brittany + Frank are getting married this August in Drayton, Ontario with the reception at the Waterloo Inn.

We had a bit of a ‘moment’ on this shoot.

We were minding our own business, photographing in downtown Kitchener.  I’ve got the camera up to my eye and I’m focusing on the couple when I can hear someone yelling.  I ignore it for a bit, but it starts getting louder and louder.  When I put the camera down, I finally see the deranged…ummm, homeless guy?… charging straight at me calling me every 4 letter word in the book.  He winds up 6 inches in front of my face screaming and ranting.

I manage to calm him down and he walks off around the corner.  Of course, we had to go around the same corner… so we crossed the street and went down the opposite side.  Apparently, this still managed to set him off as he came running across traffic for round two.  By this point I’ve got the cell phone out and I’ve dialed 9-1-…. and then he walked away.

The rest of the shoot went fine, but it did take us all a few minutes to unwind after that. I can honestly say, that’s the closest I’ve ever come to calling the police.

Brittany, Frank; Let’s hope your wedding isn’t quite as exciting.

Danielle + Keron | Toronto Engagement Photographs

Danielle + Keron are getting married this August at the Miller Lash House in Toronto.

For their engagement pictures, they wanted to tour some of their favorite locations around Toronto including Yorkville, Riverdale Park and graffiti alley just for fun (with a couple quick shots on the TTC!).

Van Velzer Family | London Family Photography

I had a great time spending the day with Angela & Scott and their two adorable little girls Josie & Sadie at their home in London.
